6. Implementation of PRO assessment in clinical practice
9. Scale up to new goals
Build on knowledge, experience, and resources from the initial PROM implementation to pursue further goals:
- Within the current setting: E.g. addition of further PROMs and/or additional assessment time points, extend to other patient groups, or improve how PRO data are used.
- In other settings: implementation of PRO assessment in additional units/clinics.
- Across the organisation: roll out of PRO assessment throughout all relevant settings (e.g., all clinics in a hospital).
Although it is recommended to follow the same structured implementation steps again, a successful project can ease future implementations:
- Use the implementation as a real‑world example to convince and motivate others.
- Share concise results internally (e.g. meetings, newsletters) and externally (e.g. conferences, publications).
- Communicate with a few key facts and visuals (flowcharts, charts) and brief plain‑language explanations.
