Which aspects are important for interpreting PRO data in a clinical context?

Consider the patient’s current treatment, health and social status, and any comorbidities. If there are differences between both, the professional opinion of the clinician should be preferred over the self-reporting since he has more expertise. The numerical value of PROM scores can be interpreted faster and easier than colour-coding. Evaluate changes in PRO scores over time to get an understanding of the effectiveness of treatments or interventions. While PRO data offer valuable insights into the patient’s perspective, it is essential to ask patients directly about their priorities to ensure that discussions are focused on their individual needs and preferences.
