Contextualisation of PRO data (1)

Reviewing PRO data before the next contact benefits both sides: patients can prepare questions and decide what they want to address, HCPs can identify key issues and consider treatment options. Depending on how PROs are collected, you can review the results together on screen and discuss them.

Communication suggestions: 

Setting the focus and order of the conversation together with the patient can help. Together prioritise and discuss the most important topics.

PRO group level data (e.g. aggregated data from a large group of patients) can also be helpful in the conversation with a patient for example to provide information about the anticipated influence of a possible therapy. Group level data might as well demonstrate that some symptoms are experienced by many others and and/or are transitional.

Patients may have further concerns: Ask a final open question to see if there is anything important that has not been addressed.
